Monday, January 6  – Friday, January 10 beginning at 8am
Join us for a week of fun activities for a healthier you. Come participate in scenic walks around La Quinta’s Civic Center Campus led by local hiking and walking groups. There will be health screenings, fitness demonstrations, information on how to eat better, and enjoy a healthier lifestyle. Free shirts will be given to the first 150 participants.

Registration begins at 8am
Start the morning off with an active warm-up before a fun walk on the Bear Creek Trail. This 5 3/4 mile (round trip) walk will have 4 rest stops with snacks, drinks, and special prizes for your effort.

Pillars of the Community Application

The City of La Quinta is now accepting applications for Pillars of the Community Award. Do you know someone who has lived in La Quinta for at least 3 years and has made a significant contribution to the City?
Please visit the Community Services department inside City Hall for an application.
Deadline to submit an application is Monday, February 24 by 5 pm.
Nature Walks and Guided Hikes

Provided by the Stewards of the Fred Wolff Nature Preserve. Join us each month for a unique look at our local environment with special guest leaders and topics.
Nature Walk:

Third Saturday of the month beginning at 8 AM. All Nature Walks begin at the Shade Shelter on the Bear Creek Nature Trail at the corner of Calle Ensenada and Avenida Montezuma in the La Quinta Cove.  MAP

Join us at 9 AM for a beautiful easy 5 mile hike. Meet at the Cove Oasis Parking Lot. All participants should dress appropriately and bring water.
Disc Golf Tournament

Grab your discs and join us for some high flying disc action at the beautiful Cove Oasis. All ages and experience are welcome to enjoy this fun tournament. There will be a division for everybody. Prizes will be given to the top finishers in each division.

YMCA Football

The City of La Quinta has partnered with the YMCA of the Desert to offer another exciting Flag Football League and Y-Rookies football at Colonel Mitchell Paige Middle school. 

Flag Football League:
  • 5 vs 5 Flag Football ages 6-14, $90
  • Practices begin the week of January 6
  • Season: Fridays, January 24 – March 14, 2014
Y-Rookies Football:
  • Age 3-5, $80
  • Season: Fridays, January 24 – March 14, 2014
